  • Resolving names in different domain/subnet

Hey guys m new on this forum. Wana discuss the scenario....

I have a two different forest/domains (abc.com and xyz.com), two different subnets(190.x and 170.x) and both are on different locations. Both subnets can ping eachother as we have ipsec tunnel between them. We configure a machine in our abc.com but wants that it can able to join the domain xyz.com and also able to access all the resources from that domain (xyz.com) and (xyz.com) domain users can able to login to that machine. The network settings of this machine is configured on 190.x with its DNS (190.x.x.x.). What i need to do now inorder to access xyz.com (170.x) domain and its resources.

Configure conditional forwarding on your DNS servers for each domain.

conditional forwarding would sort out his DNS issues.. but he's saying he wants users from the separate domains to be able to login to te other domains

seems more like he'd want a trust. are they different companies, or the same company?

          Spot on.

Needs a trust in place to allow this to happen.
