  • Can't reach to same domains outside the network

    Hello !

We use WIndows 2003 server and today we moved to a new server.

Our new server is named abc.com ,and we also have a company email at gmail : mail.abc.com

But every time we try to access mail.abc.com it cannot find it because it looks it up in our domain and not outside it at google.
I've tried making a DNS record for mail.abc.com to an IP - but it didn't help. (I am unable to use that IP to reach our mailboxes because google won't give static IP's to each company box).

I know that changing our donain to something else would help solve this issue, but is there other way without changing the domain name ?

    You're on the right track.

Are you sure you have the correct IP address for mail.abc.com?
If this is really Google Apps then I think you need to create a CNAME record pointing to ghs.google.com.

Give that a shot and see if it works.
