  • DHCP Client problem

    Running windows 7 32bit

Here's the problem I'm having: The dhcp service runs, but it doesn't actually work unless i restart it. I only get 169 ip's unless i restart the service.

    Idea's would be greatly appreciated

Oh, and ONLY restarting it fixes the problem

    Re: DHCP Client problem

what do you mean by only restarting it fixes the problem?
What else have you tried to fix the problem?
Are we talking about DHCPClient or DHCPServer service ?

what is the effect of ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

what do you see in the event logs ?
Please do show your appreciation to those who assist you by leaving Rep Point https://www.petri.com/forums/core/im.../icon_beer.gif

      Re: DHCP Client problem

Only restarting the dhcp client service allows the nic to acquire a ip.

Name things and I'll tell you if I've tried it or not

I'm too tired to concentrate o this any more tonight, I'll have another shot at it tomorrow

Out of curiousity, were you using the Microsoft or Vendor NiC drivers?
