  • After migrate to 2008 : cannot see reservations on XP stations

    Hi everyone,

I recently migrate my DHCP server from a win 2003 std server to a win 2008 std server (via Microsoft guide).
The migration was successful and everything looks ok.
The problem is when an admin user is connecting to DHCP server via Win XP mmc, it cannot see reservations on any subnets. He can creates reservation but not see it.

    Anyone knows this issue ?

    Thank you for helping,

This is a problem with the MMC on Windows XP.

Apparantly it will work with MMC 3.0 on Windows 2003 but not MMC 3.0 on Windows XP.

I am sure if you use this as your basis you will find the answer you are looking for.

In this case, your best bet is to manage the 2008 DHCP Service using RSAT tools, either from the server itself or a Vista (not) or better yet a Windows 7 client.
