  • Active Directory - Pilot ?

    http://forums.petri.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

We are currently thinking of changing over to Active Directory before migrating our mailboxes from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.

I have built a new windows NT domain controller and upgraded it to Windows 2003. We are now at the Active Directory installation stage. However, we would like to build a pilot before doing anything "live" on our LAN.

We know very little about the process and so want to experiment first as we dont want to cause probs on our network.

Is there a way of installing Active Directory without being on our LAN onto the Windows 2003 server ?

Create a test domain (server + a couple of workstations) and try things out.
Keep it operational once you go live as you can troubleshoot with it.

As Dumber said, get some expert help -- I've travelled as far as Manchester before
