  • Child Domain - Access Is Denied

I've also run into another issue, this time with our other child domain
in Thailand. If I try to validate the trusts to / from it, I get
Access Is Denied. If I try adding their DNS server to view I get
    Access Is Denied.
I have tried using netdom trust .... /reset /twoway but I get Access
    Is Denied!

If I click Start -> Run and type either the IP or name of the server, I
get prompted for a username and password. It doesn't matter what i
enter here, it just keeps popping up. I'm asked for credentials if I
try mapping a drive as well - doing so through command prompt tells
    me...Access Is Denied.

On the server in Thailand, I tried disabling the default domain policy
and the default domain controller policy and restarting the PC as I had
read it can be to do with a setting in there, but I am still getting
the same Access Is Denied errors everywhere!

    Thanks,
    Luke

Yep, I'm actually doing it from the server which is logged on as the domain administrator....

I've checked the Enterprise Admins group and both myself and the administrator is in there.

Also, when clicking the validate button and entering the credentials, I'm using the administrator.

Stupid question time: is this being blocked by SP1 firewall?
        TIA

teiger - Firewall is turned off.

Our other child domain can validate successfully.

Unfortunately I can't post anything just yet with DCDiag / NetDiag results - they have had a power cut in Thailand and it seems to have taken everything out

when I run the commands, which switches should I use with them?

            Regards,

Re: Child Domain - Access Is Denied

I think I have found the issue with this and am currently working through a Microsoft support sheet...so I will try all this and post whether or not it is successful.
