  • W2K3 Domain ; Configuration Container

My predecessor installed CA on a W2K3 domain controller in mixed mode. I want to demote the DC to a member server, but cannot until I get rid of CA.
    http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...89250&x=8&y=10
describes how to decommission a CA from W2K3.
Problem is I can't find the Config container as mentioned in the link. I seem to recall seeing it when we were in mixed mode.
AD USers and Computers, View/Advanced ... no config container. Is this OK?
The doc above mentions removing CA objs from AD using sites and services, but I'm a tad leery .. no configuration container. Why not?

Re: W2K3 Domain ; Configuration Container

It's not "Configuration container". It's the "Configuration partition" that you are looking for.
Use adsiedit.exe from support tools to see all the 3 partitions of your AD (Domain. Configuration, Schema) and perform the changes using adsiedit.
