  • Allowing users to install printers

    Hi,
I have tried to create a GPo that will allow users to install printers. However, it does not seem to be working. These are the channges I have made.....

Under Computer Settings => Windows Settings => Local Policies/ User Rights Assignments => Load and unload device drivers Users, Everyone

Am I missing something. I have rebooted the system to update the policy and looking at the local policy it is set. However, local printers are grayed out still. Also I did link the policy and tried to enforce it too.

Re: Allowing users to install printers

    Hello,

Based on Microsoft KB, administrators and power users with special right can install local printers.
The special right is Load and unloads device drivers. This was already configured using GPO.
What you have to do is to add domain userís member of the Power userís local group.
