I think I am having issues with my network browsing. Not all systems seem to be showing up all the time. I am also getting Event Log errors of 8008--> The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer <computer name> that believes that it is the master browser. I have done some reading on this error and I made the registry change to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Browser\Parameters\MaintainServerList giving value FALSE on the specified computer. However when I run browstat status it does not seem to give me a masterbrowser. Could someone point me to some good documentation on this stuff. Is this needed in a Windows Server 2003 AD. Any help would be great and if you need more info please just ask.

    Re: Masterbrowser issues.

There are couple questions that need to answered to get the whole picture:

    1) Do you have WINS ?
    2) Do you have more than one subnet ?
    3) Is the client's node type set to Hybrid ?
