  • targeted gpo/ new ou

Hi, I need to be able to target some GPO's. However, all users including admins are in the same OU. How do i create gpo's for select groups only that do not apply to certain users and groups like admins?
I have been looking around and it seems like I need to create additional OU's.
Is this true? Right now all users are in the users under the main "mydomain.local\"
would i simply go to the mydomain.local\, right click, add new ou?
woould it be best to migrate all the targeted users over, then migrate the gpo to that sub ou?

Yep! you are on the right track. Simply create a new OU and move your users or other objects into it. Then you can apply your own custom Group Policies to your new OU.

You can also filter GPO settings for certain users or groups, however using the natural inheritance method and creating the right OUs is probably better.
