  • Cannot browse child domains in Active Directory

    Hello,

This is my first post, and I like the site so far. Well, I do a problem.

    Our setup is as follows

-We are running windows server 2003 Enterprise Edition with windows xp professional clients in a test lab envirenment. Our forest root has dns server installed and all the servers dns settings are pointing to the forest root server for dns. We have run dcpromo successfully to promote those servers as child domains under the domain that contains the forest root.

After creating forest root and creating child domains using dcpromo, we cannot browse each others domains in active directory in a test lab envirement.

    We getting the following error

the domain coould not be found because the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted.

I look forward to your responses

    Sincerly

Looks like DNS. Did you create delegations from the forest root to the child domains, and forwarders from the child to the root?
