  • 2003 Active Directory

I have an annoying problem. 2003 Enterprise Server with AD installed.
Another computer with XP Pro installed. Try to connect to the server and it connects, i can see shares but cannot use group policy. Upon further investigation, the event viewer on XP Pro shows," could not find domain name or domain server". How can this be when i can see shares.
    Confused

Look at the SYSVOL permissions. Also, any other event ids?

I would also be looking for misconfigured DNS.

More then once I have also found the following link usefull:
      http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...t/gptshoot.asp
Although originally written for W2K, it applies to W2K3 too.

You guys were right. DNS not configured properly.
Using the how to install AD from the main menu, followed it to the letter and it now works.
          Thanks
