  • DSRM not working

I need to delete in AD user accounts that have been inactive for 8 or more weeks. I am using the following script to accomplish this:

dsquery user -limit 0 ou=sf,dc=cal,dc=us,dc=civ –inactive 8 | dsrm -noprompt

When I run the script, I get the error "dsrm failed: Target object for this 'command' is missing". I ran the same command string on another domain controller in a different domain, different forest, and it worked without this error. I can run the command without the | dsrm -noprompt with no problems. Any ideas? Thanks.

You aren't alone - see if any of the suggestions in this thread help you:

(I know it is mainly dsmove, but should be adaptable)

Also http://forums.petri.com/showthread.php?t=11221 seems to solve it
