  • howto assigning IP-range to different global groups

    Hi folks,

    I've created in my domain 1 OU. In this OU I've created 4 global groups. How can I assign a static IP-range to the different groups?? The default range of my server (win 2000) is 10.0.0.3 to 10.0.0.254.
    for example, I want to give the following IP ranges:
    group 1 10.0.0.3 to 10.0.0.10;
    group 2 10.0.0.11 to 10.0.0.111;
    group 3 10.0.0.112 to 10.0.0.211;
    group 4 10.0.0.212 to 10.0.0.254;

    thx all!!

    I don't think there is a way to do what you ask. You could try to play with DHCP User Classes but it won't be that easy and it won't look at the groups, you'll need to configure it manually.

      You carn't. IP address are assigned to physical objects not logical groups. Groups can contain users, computers etc and you carn't dynamically assign users ip address An object could be a member of both group1 and group2 so then what ip address would it get?. You can easily setup reservations and assign ip to mac address or ip to different OS or segment your network in to group1 - 4 using routers/VLANS and DHCP each segment
