    Hi,

    I would like to know is it possible to set a Group policy in windows 2008 or windows 2012 for Linux desktops also. I have client who is having AD on windows 2008 R2 server and client system on both windows & Linux desktops & now they want to set group policy for both windows and linux desktops.

    I would like to know is it possible to set group policy for linux OS through windows Ad

    you can integrate logon requests with samba and/or ldap in a windows environment, but windows isnt really in the business of writting adm templates for rhel clients.

    while there may be several exceptions to the rule (im not aware of any, but i dont study much into linux gpo's), i think a good general rule is not to expect any linux gpos.

    ok, you made me UTFSE and see what was available for Linux GPOs, for my own edification or course... i did see more info about it that i would have expected. it isnt much, but i didnt want to seem misleading at all. none of the links are 'free' solutions by any means, but nonetheless they are available.
