Is there a restriction on the Domain Admin group that will not allow you to add users from another domain when you have a trust set up?

I have a one way outgoing trust set up on a Windows 2003 DC and i am unable to add users from the trusted domain (windows 2000) to the Domain Admins group?

There is. DA is a Domain Global group that will only accept members from its own domain. You can, however, add users to the Administrators group. Not quite the same thing, but close enough for most purposes. Notable exception: members of Administrators cannot manage anything but DC's. Domain Admins, on the other hand, are in the local Administrators group of all member computers by default.
