  • Member server giving error when 1 DC is down

I have 2 Windows 2003 domain controllers and many member servers. Server #1 is the Authoritive Server and both are Global Catalogs. Last week Server #2 became unresponsive causing several member servers to give several errors including: 1030 Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects, 1058 Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO, and 1006 windows cannot bind to xyz domain.
I recognize that the errors are because Server #2 was down but why didnít the member servers get the GP information from Server #1?
    Any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks.
