  • How to setup a domain

    I plan to setup a domain for my office,We have Main and branch office which is of
    400 Km distance & connected by Wan Link Bandwidth of 4 mbps. Main office has 85 Desktop's(WinXP & Win7),Branch office has 45 desktop's(Winxp & Win7). Now we plan to implement domain for Exchange & authentication purposes. Guide me how many domain controller should i place in each location,it should also cover disaster cases also. kindly help me for designing active direcory.

    A lot of missing information, but basically:
    Create a physical DC in your main office - preferably Server 2008 R2. It will get DNS installed automatically. Add DHCP and make sure local clients use the Windows DHCP server

    Suggest a second DC at your main office and at least one (preferably 2) at your branch office

    But you really should get a consultant to help you further and design an infrastructure for your precise needs.
