  • Name Change

I have a user that wishes to change her name.
I’ve inherited a 3 server domain… Active Directory is running on one of 2 running Server 2003, with Exchange 2010 on a Server 2008 box.
((Just beginning network upgrade to 2008.... original installation was done with as little work as possible...)

How do I make the appropriate changes without disrupting the business flow!

    Re: Name Change

What are you wanting to change?
Display name -- JFDI via AD properties
Logon Name -- right click user and "rename" and follow the prompts (will need a log off)
email address -- add new address via EMC and set as primary

Or tell her to put the marriage/divorce (delete as applicable) on hold because Microsoft won't let her

Ossian - Thanks for the reply...
JFDI already pending... (they want to wait till I'm on site...)
Divorce... already tried the Microsoft excuse... she burst into tears and had to go home for the day...

If she's that sensitive you'll also want to recreate her local profile because the file path name won't change until you do that.... wouldn't want her getting upset every time she opens My Documents.

She'd then be off for a month.
