  • bring up 24 hours old DC

need to replace running DC (VM) with 24 hours old backup of the same DC.
The DC is one of the multiple DCs on remote site.
would be there any negative impact?

    Thx.

Is this an authoritative restore (revert to earlier version of AD)?
    If so, take offline first

If not, just restore backup and ensure it replicates with more recent DC

DC (VM) run on Hyper-V standalone host (remote site).
Local storage should be reconfigured (RAID will be recreated).
I exported couple of VMs (DC included) and imported on temporary Hyper-V host.
      Everything works fine.
When the HOST will be reconfigured I can import exported DC from 24 hours ago.
And this is my question: if this VM will be trouble free.
Sure, I can export and immediately import DC (15 minutes interruption).
But just in case want to be sure that 24 hours old DC will be OK.

i would suggest you shutdown the DC, and export it immediately..
try not to re-import the DC from 24hrs ago to prevent USN rolled back issue.
