  • Server 2003 BDC problem after migration to Citrix XenServer

    Hello to everyone,

I was hoping that some of you more experienced members could help me out with the following problem.

I had migrated our backup DC (Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2) to Citrix VM as the hardware was outdated. After the migration, the DHCP service no longer worked, but I wanted to move that to PDC anyway. The main problem is that shared folders are no longer accessible using the DNS name (although DNS resloves IP correctly), but only using IP address. Users get the following error when trying to access "\\servername\share\":

Logon failure: The target account name is incorrect.

    \\IP address\share\ works just fine.

I have tried to demote the BDC VM to standalone server, but that fails as well, as administrator credentials are not accepted.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.
