  • Domain Controller not communicating with Exchange Server

I just inherited this site to support.

    I have 2 2008 DC's primary is fine

Secondary is acting wierd; it is the secondary DNS as well. I double checked the the DNS is point to itself as primary. i confirmed both servers are in AD domain ctrl OU.
    pc-mail-02 is the exchange server

These are the events I am getting on the secondary DC. They other day when I rebooted DC 1 and the exchange server the exch serv wouldnt come back before DC1

Errors I get twice a day.
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer using any of the configured protocols. event 10009

Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed (0x800706ba) The RPC server is unavailable. event 6

Certificate enrollment for Local system failed to enroll for a DomainController certificate with request ID N/A from\ (The RPC server is unavailable. 0x800706ba (WIN32: 1722)). event 13

Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.

I'll try and start from here with you.

Let's start with your AD infrastructure.
Can you run dcdiag and look for any issues
Then, make certain your DNS is configured properly.

Then we;ll look at one issue at a time
Please do show your appreciation to those who assist you by leaving Rep Point
