  • Active Directory password synch with Unix

Hello Guys, I am trying to synch ldap passwords with active directory. We can not use the feature that came with windows server 2008 as we are trying to stay away from NIS. We have tried to use Sun password synchronization for Windows but the documents are only available for windows 2003.

We want the password to synch from unix to windows, any suggestions?

One suggestion would be to install a PAM module for Keberos on your UNIX boxes and point it at your Active Directory. In that case you wouldn't be synchronizing IDs and passwords, you'd just be using our Active Directory accounts.

If the previous solution does not help, then check Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010. It's purpose is to simplify and centralize identity management.

      It's an expensive solution, but...

Download trial and check it out. Here is FAQ link http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/i...en/us/faq.aspx
