  • Extracting info from mobile attribute field in AD through LDAP

I've recently gotten an interesting task in helping with expanding our intranet-system, which uses LDAP-queries to give the users access to information relevant to their branch through group membership. Basically the users are members of one group that allows access, and one that defines which shop/branch they're defined as belonging to.

The information we're specifically after in getting over is the users cellphone-numbers, which is defined in the mobile attribute-field in AD, but only for the users that are members of the security-group that defines access to the intranet (Akademiet Users)

Sadly, I know only a little about LDAP, and quickly found that building a query that gives the info we're after beyond my meager skills. Thus I turn to this page, which has helped me greatly before through the articles and forumposts. Anyone able to shed some light on the subject?

    See if this helps you

    1. First get groupDN using below command

    dsget group -name <groupname>
eg:- to find groups which starts with abc use
    dsget group -name abc*

    2. Note dwon groupDN from output of above command.

    3. Run below command to get mobile no. of users who are members of that group

dsget group -members <groupDN> | dsget user -mobile -samid
