  • Defrag AD database

I understand how to defrag an active directory database I suppose...
    Say I have 3 DC's. A 2008R2, and 2 2003 servers.

Do I have to defrag all 3?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Well I've never defragged an AD database so I would say no. Why do you want to defrag it?

Yes you would need to perform the defragmentation on each DC. It's not something you do once and have replicated... unfortunately.

How old/new are the servers? Generally speaking you don't need to perform it that often unless you add/remove lots of entries regularly or, for some reason, switch between GC and non GC roles.

But yes, all 3 need to be done.
        cheers
