  • AD Replication following SBS2008 failure

    Hi all

Hypothetically, if I have a remote Branch Office BDC (Server 2008 ) connected via VPN (for AD replication) to main office SBS2008 and SBS2008 fails catastophically (e.g. theft, fire etc.), can AD be replicated back to a replacement SBS2008 Box? I am assuming that normally this would be done using migration to SBS2008 but as AD would have been created, in the first instance, by SBS2008 would this work?

    Any comments much appreciated.

    Thanks

    AH

    Hi,

Generally RODC would be used in RBO. The replication is unidirectional from writable domain controller to RODC. Since replication is unidirectional i.e from WDC--> RODC not otherway around. You can recreate the replacebox with the same name and recreating rodc server object
    Thanks & Regards
