  • Depromo Active Directory Win 2008 affect permission on File Server

    It' domain controller has file server service running , If i dcpromo /forceremoval on DC have impact permission on file share service or not ? If you have reference link please post to board.

    If you have a machine you can use to test - do so. It looks as though the permissions are retained but, of course, they will only apply if there is another DC available against which access can be authorised, and the server is re-joined to the domain.

    Is this your only DC?

    These are for 2003 - though 2008 is mentioned in the first link.

        So why are you considering removing it - your domain will be destroyed.

          I demote already. By force removal DC , But not restart Server the permission not failed , If i restart server i think loss permission , My resolve rejoin to domain again
