  • SRV records

    Hi all,
I'm trying to understand the DNS process in AD, especially SRV records.
It seems to me like there's a lot of redundancy, with _ldap and _kerberos services offered in various parts of the DNS tree (under _msdcs, _sites, etc...).
Can someone please explain why there are so many branches in the DNS tree and which one is responsible for the various processes, like initial DC and site discovering, authentication, etc..?

    Thanks in advance!
    Roberto

nothing else more related to Windows' DNS? I don't have o want to set up a separate BIND server...

Which exam in the MCSE2003 deals with SRV records in detail?
