  • Moving DC to other site where alredy same domain DC is available

    Hi

I am not strong on architecture level in AD but have some requirement which I have to troubleshoot. Can anybody help me on this.

I have different sites (A,B,C) in my forest. Where I am requested to move site "C' to site "B" along with Domain controller. In this scenario I am requested to add site "C" in same subnet.

I can change IP and can do all configuration and I also think that both can work in same subnet but still I am confuse.

I just wants to know that will it be any issue if I keep both servers (DC) which are from same domain in same subnet?

    Sorry for my English.

    Thanks,

You can move all servers to site 'b' from site 'c' without any major issues as sites are really just boundaries for your clients to access 'local' domain controllers.

Having multiple domain controllers in a single site will NOT cause any issues, it is in fact preffered as you then have redundancy in place in the event that something goes wrong with one of the servers.

    Does that help?
