  • Pointing single hostname to multiple URL - AD Sites

    Hi,

We are having 3 sites namely X, Y and Z in our company. The total 400 branches are been pointed to these 3 sites X, Y & Z for load balancing. Now, we have a requirement to point one of our internal website with the name abcd.com to different URL's based on the site to which the branches are present for load balancing. For eg, the name abcd.com should resolve to 10.20.30.40 if the machine is in a branch which belongs to Site X while the the same name abcd.com should resolve to 10.69.50.50 if the machine is in a branch which belongs to Site Y. Please let me know what changes should be made for the same.

    Regards,
    Anish

If there is only one subnet in each site then you just need to add the various A records to the zones. The DNS servers will then use netmask ordering to give the local IP to the requester.
