  • home drives dropping off, and takes a srv restart, to fix

    hey all,

window user's home drives seem to drop off, and when loggin on get a permission denied error. The home shares are stored on 2 linux boxes (using unix permissions), and get the following error in its logs

    server 1

Sun Sep 11 17:47:00 NZST [server1: auth.dc.trace.DCConnection.errorMsg:error]: AUTH: Domain Controller error: NetLogon error 0xc0000022: - Filer's security information differs from domain controller.
    Sun Sep 11 17:37:15 NZST [server1: ems.engine.inputSuppress:info]: Event 'nbt.nbss.network.error' suppressed 2 times since Sun Sep 11 14:26:33 NZST 2005.

    server2

Mon Sep 12 11:47:29 NZST [Auth05:CRITICAL]: CIFS - Filer's security information differs from domain controller

over and over, if CIFS is restarted , its all well again

and its a global problem at the one time, not just random users.

This seems to have started happening when i changed the PDC emulator from win2k to win2k3.

    Ideas?

    Thanks

What is the Linux distro and version ?
How is Samba configured on it ? (/etc/samba/smb.conf should help)
    Are you using winbind ?
