  • Intersection of Security Groups

I am trying to control role-based access to Specific Applications using AD.

    1) In a Single Domain, if I have Nested Security Groups that mirror the complex role-based organization of a large company (3000 users), and

    2) I have a Security Group for specific users who have access to Application 1 (say 85 users) in a different OU,

Can I use LDAP or other method to create the intersection of the Role-based Groups and the Application Group 1 to provide role-based access to the Application 1?

That way I can manage the organizational roles once, and allow application access based on smaller Application Security Groups?

Any thoughts or other ideas appreaciated!

    Re: Intersection of Security Groups

It depends on the Applications you use. If they support that sort of integration with AD then yes it can be done.
