  • Importing Accounts from LDAP to AD

    Hello All,

I'm looking to decom an iplanet server, and migrate its accounts to MSFT 2003 AD. So basically I'm going to import a ldif file into AD (using ldifde perhaps?). The question is: Can I do a mass import of accounts into AD, including the sh1 hashed passwords? So far, all the tutorials that I've seen on ldifde focus on importing all objects within ldap except for the password. Is this doable?

    Thanks,

    Henry

    Hi CraftTech,

Can you please elaborate your setup and migration strategy?

you can use ADMT unless you are doing in some different way, it will sync your passwords too.
You can follow the below mentioned article however it's for cross forest exchange move mailbox but it can used for user accounts too.

Re: Importing Accounts from LDAP to AD

      Hello,

The original accounts are sitting on an Iplanet server (ldap). I can produce a ldif file which I can eventually migrate to AD. I wasn't aware that ADMT could migrate users from ldap. Would it be able to import SHA1 hashed passwords?
      Thanks,
