  • Ad Sites and Exchange 2007 CCR

So I have two AD sites...main and dr. Main site has a two node exchange server. Need to move second node of exchnage to dr site. But both nodes of exchnage in ccr needs to be in the same ad site.

I am thinking of just creating one site and spanning it over to the dr site. Network connection is good between two sites. I would still prefer desktops from main site connecting to dc physically located in teh main site.

I heard this can be done by increasing the weight of dcs at the dr location but dont remember how. Thanks.

Hi Can you tell me what is level of server are you running server 2003, server 2008.

There is something called Stretched network basically this means you would have CCR passive node in DR but they will be on same network point to point connectivity.... this is called Stretched network.

If you want them on non stretched which basically means Cluster nodes in different subnet then you need to use windows server 2008 failover cluster

    Hope this will help you
    Thanks & Regards
