  • AD logon process

    Hi

My boss asked me yesterday, about the logon process in AD, the point is that i dont know which machine will handle this login, i heard about that only the PDC will handle the logins instead the BDC that will only handle the login if the PDC is busy. Other people told me that the login request will be handled by the domain controller in that physical site no matter is a pdc or a bdc. So im confused.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: AD logon process

In AD all DCs are equal -- there are no PDC and BDCs any more
Yes, a DC in the site will handle the logon (random choice if multiple DCs)
If there is no local DC, any other one will do it
