  • How to remove orpfhaned copmputers from Acive Directory

    Hi there,
I have a small problem with orphaned computers on my AD.
I have bunch of computers on AD which are not used by users.
How can i remove unused computers from active directory ?

    Thanks for your help

If they are computers and not domain controllers, just right click and select delete (in AD Users and Computers)

if they are still on the network, and might be used someday, I would leave them there -- move them into a different OU to hide them but keep their SIDs intact

Or you can use this new tool from Joeware which has a ton of command line switches and lets you define really cool filters for computers to be removed:
      http://www.joeware.net/share/beta/oldcmp/
This is a beta and URL will change. You should be able to find it in a couple of days at http://www.joeware.net/win32/index.html (or at least that is what the guy promised at Activedir.org mailing list.)
