  • Help with Site Link issue

We recently had one site link with all DC's in it and Bridge All site links enabled.

One site is now not directly connected to one of the other sites and will remain this way for the forseeable future. I need to now change the site links to reflect this.

Site A - Hub has direct route to Site B, C, D and holds all FSMO roles
    Site B - connection to Site A but not C and D
    Site C - connection to Site A and D
    Site D - connection to Site A and C

My proposal was to disable Bridge all Site Links and make the following links
    Site A - Site B
    Site A - Site C
    Site A - Site D
    Site C - Site D

Should I put in a Site link bridge in this scenario or what would be the suggestion?

Re: Help with Site Link issue

    You have 2 options:

    1) Disable "Bridge all site links" on the IP transport - not recommended, as this also disables DFS site costing ability.

    2) Turn on the option on site B not to generate connection objects with sites to which there is no explicit site link using the following syntax:

    repadmin /siteoptions <DC_IN_SITE_B> /site:"B" +W2K3_BRIDGES_REQUIRED
