  • 2003 network crashing

    Hello to all,

I currently have a network consisting of two 2003 servers. One server (std) runs Dns, AD, PDC and DHCP. The other (2003 Ent) is running AD and DNS. Ok so here's the problem, when the server running DNS, PDC & Dhcp crashes or the WAN link goes down then the server running dns & AD will crash. The event logs show DNS errors, can't start DNS or or any critical services. ...Please help..thanks,

    Jason

    Re: 2003 network crashing

From what you say, they are in two different sites?
Are sites and services correctly set up?
Is the additional DC a Global Catalog?

What useful information is in the event logs?

Install the windows 2003 support tools and run dcdiag and netdiag. These will tell you a lot of good information about your AD set-up and potentially point out any issues.
