  • DNS load balancer

Our network has 3 DNS servers and we have configured DNS Round robin load balancing. When one DNS gets down, some client complaints that they are unable to open website and others are able to open website.

I have read in one docs that DNS does not provide fail over functionality and so some visitors are connected with the fail DNS and gets such an error.

How can we automatically remove the failed DNS server from round robin list ?

    Re: DNS load balancer

This is one of the major drawbacks of round robin.
You can't do anything against it with DNS.

If you tell more about the setup there might be other options to doe failover.
