  • user logon to other domain

    I have two domains. a.com and b.a.com.

I have created a user in a.com, which is Mike.

I want this user to log in to b.a.com.

    what shall I do?

Shall I have to use groups or something else?

Re: user logon to other domain

    Hi,
Since it is a child domain, While you login it will asked for the option Log On To: (Domain) From that drop down menu you need to select the domain (b.a.com) and you can login into the system.

    Thanks

      You are right...

But the problem is that user is unable to logon to child domain.....

An error message appears saying invalid username and password...

Can one domain user log on to another domain, by default ????

What is the purpose of creating Domain local group.....???

Re: user logon to other domain

        Hi Sachin,
Sure from parent domain a user can logon to the child domain with there user Logon credentials (UPN).
The Local groups are used to access there resoureces such as shared folder, applications and etc...
Let me know if you have any issue still.

        Thanks

Re: user logon to other domain

I f u want the user to logon to only a.b.com then u should have user account in a.b.com. itself.
If the user is in b.com, user can login to system whch is part of child domain a.b.com but user needs to select b.com only in drop down box since he is part of that domain

The idea is as user credentials given to child domain is passed to parent domain for authenthication
