  • operations masters, fsmo error

    Hello,
I had created Additional server in 2000, i changed RID and Infrastructure to new server, after then i was demoting additional server, so i changed infrastructure role back to PDC but when i was changing RID role There came an error stating that the current FSMO cant be contacted. So after then when ever i connect to PDC there in RID operation master "Error" is written and i am unable to give PDC that role back.

Peace be on all of you

    So what have you done
running W2k Domain, add new DC, transfer roles and demoting the New DC? why??

problably you need to seize the role back to de DC which is still running..

oh, I DON'T give you any garantee that this procedures will work, or won't damage anything.
    As per microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default...87&sd=tech

Administrators should use extreme caution in seizing FSMO roles. This operation, in most cases, should be performed only if the original FSMO role owner will not be brought back into the environment.
also see of course one of daniels articles:
