  • Disabling concurrent user Login in 2003 Active Directory

    Hi All,

We have created a 2003 AD infrastructure in our office. It has a single domain with 2 DCs. Total nos of user are 50 where 30 nos users are having roaming profile. Total nos of clients are 35 and all are running Windows XP Professional.

Out of 35 nos of client 20 are fixed for 20 nos of user. Rest 15 are shared by 30 roaming users ( these user are not available in the ofiice for the whole day).

We have 2 OUs. Each OU is having its own GPO. One of the GPO is configured to redirect My document and Desktop to a file server (this GPO is used by the roaming users). Offline file settings are enabled for this OU.

The problem we are facing is some roaming user login on to two or three systems concurrently resulting their files are not updating properly.

We want to prevent user Logon concurrently.

    Plz help .

    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi,
LimitLogon and CConnect.exe should do that for you: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/237282

I was under the impresion it was part of the RK tools but at a second glance it doesn't look that way . It looks like you are left with LimitLogon for now.

Re: Disabling concurrent user Login in 2003 Active Directory

We have tried to use LimitLogon utility as per the help file provided by Microsoft.

For a test run we have used three machines : one as 2003 DC with both Forest and donmain function level in 2003 and others are XP client with SP2. The 2003 Server is also having SP2.

After full configuration we have restarted the DC follwed by the clients.

After reboot the DC gave the follwing error

Moreover concurrent login is also possible.

          Any help plz.

          Thanks
