  • LDIFDE password import error

    Hi All,

I was finally able to import users using CSVDE making their account active and enabling whatever the options that were required.

Now when I try to reset the password, I get an error. Tried everything I could, didnt help...

    The import ldf file contains:
    ------------------------------------------------------
    dn: CN=test,DC=domain,DC=com
    changetype: modify
    replace: unicodePwd
    unicodePwd::<base64converted passwd>
    -

    -------------------------------------------------------
    I get the error:
    ------------------------
Add error on line 1: Unwilling To Perform
The server side error is "A device attached to the system is not functioning."
    0 entries modified successfully.
An error has occurred in the program
    -------------------------

I'm connected to the AD server using RDC.

I have tried using the -t 636 option with LDIFDE but get an error no. 88***, dont remember the exact error.

    Has anyone faced this issue?

    Please help.

    Regards,
    Sandeep

      Re: LDIFDE password import error

Is your Secure LDAP setup properly?

Can you connect to LDAP with SSL?

Can you tell us what error you get when trying to use port 636?

Also, I think ldifde doesn't use -t portnumber, but servername:636 . I haven't checked the usage screen but you might want to try that out.

Thanks Gepeto! I'll try that today, got the access to testbed today.

I also suspect that 128 bit encryption package is not installed on the server. Any idea if the encryption pacakage is installed by default on MS Server 2003 R2?

        Thanks and regards,
