  • GPO/AD Question, admin user in RDP/Terminal Services group, but can't login as admin

I'm still learning Active Directory and I have a question.

This is a single domain network and there are 3 servers plus some workstations

#1. Database server + domain controller + DNS + DHCP + terminal server
#2. replicate domain controller + DNS
#3. Web server + terminal server

the web server has joined to the domain, however I can not use any other account to login with admin rights, only the administrator account has full rights. either using local login or with remote desktop. I also installed terminal services on this server.

in AD, I put user "mike" into an OU called Management Users, and this OU is member of domain administrators, terminal services, remote desktop users. I can login to other DC with full rights.

It works fine on the 2nd DC, I didn't have to change anything and I could login with my user account.

so I had to manually add my user account to the Local User & Groups -> Groups -> Administrators, now I have full control.

Is this the way it is? Or there's a setting that i missed ?
