  • Urgent Help required - smb and digital signing on domain pol

    hey all,

really need your help here. Heres the situation.

Have a linux box as a websrv, running samba for the web designer to updates files through. When trying to connect through start/run hostname gets the following error. see denied.gif

also MACs have trouble connecting to fileservers due to this issue, and i know its not having the right combo as shown in srnsht.gif below

Sometimes when i change it so MACS ( macs as in apple) can access it, all PC users cant,

    help!!!

    Change it to:

Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always) => Disabled
Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (if server agrees) =>Enabled
Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always) => Disabled
Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (if client agrees) => Enabled

btw, what version of Samba are you running ? recent versions work just fine with SMB signing turned on.

Ttry upgrading to any version above 3.0.8. Those should not require disabling SMB signing.
