  • OS X clients "invalid username or password" 2003 f

    Hello,

Getting this error from OS X clients trying to connect to fileservers.

    smb:// IP of server

prompts with correct DOMAIN and asks for username and pass.
Verified 100% that username and passwd is correct but still no go.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

All i can think of is some security options somewhere that i have missed .

Have had this working for a long time before, File sharing for macs is setup, UAM etc,

    Cheers

By default, when creating a new user, the "User must change password at next logon" box is checked. This has thrown me a couple times. Make sure it's unchecked and attempt to access the share again.

I'd also reccommend checking "Password never expires" as well. If you have any kind of password expiration policy enforced then these users will be calling you every time the expiration interval is up.
