  • AD on a windows 2003 server under a win2k domain - problems!

    This seems to be the main problem, after running DCDiag /V on the win2k domain controller:
    "Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\SERVER
    Starting test: Replications
    * Replications Check
    ......................... SERVER passed test Replications
    Test omitted by user request: Topology
    Test omitted by user request: CutoffServers
    Starting test: NCSecDesc
    * Security Permissions Check for
    CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=Aeronautics-sys,DC=com
    * Security Permissions Check for
    CN=Configuration,DC=Aeronautics-sys,DC=com
    * Security Permissions Check for
    DC=Aeronautics-sys,DC=com
    Error NT AUTHORITY\ENTERPRISE DOMAIN CONTROLLERS doesn't have
    Replicating Directory Changes
    Replication Syncronization
    Manage Replication Topology
    access rights for the naming context:
    DC=Aeronautics-sys,DC=com
    ......................... SERVER failed test NCSecDesc"

    Also, the "adprep /forestprep" command was run successfully (so it seems), but the "adprep /domainprep" gave no response (just went back to the command line silently)..

    thanks!

    Btw: its meant to be a member server (the win2k3 server) under a win2k domain controller in a win2k/winxp mixed network.

    Just wondering: why would you want to run adprep if you are not going to have W2K3 DCs ?

    And you can always give the appropriate permissions using ADSI Edit...
