  • AD Complex Passwords - Allow Domain Admins to set simple passwords?

    Hi All,

I've just implemented a new AD infrastructure and have complex passwords enabled.

I would like to allow domain admins to be able to set simple passwords for resets etc, in a previous company we were able to do this, but im finding it hard to figure out how it can be done.

My other question is, we have a number of support accounts setup using simple passwords, these are all set to 'never expire' & 'do not allow user to change' - am I right in thinking these accounts will be unaffected by the complex password policy?

    Thanks,
    R

I guess this is Windows Server 2003.
Password complexity GPO's can only be set on the Domain level, meaning that they are applied to all users within that domain.
If you filter the policy out to support personel, they will be able to set any password (even simple) they want.
