  • Domain-logon through VPN-connection

My users have laptops with Cisco VPN-clients to enable them to logon from home and so on...

    My questions are:

    1.
Is there anyway to logon to the domain after they have logged in to their windows-account? I want them to get GPO's, login-script and so on when they are at home also...
(They have to logon to a windowsaccount to be able to start the VPN-client)

    2.
Is there anyway to "re-logon" to the domain without logging the user off/on?
For example in Novell Netware you can rightclick the big red "N" and re-logon to get new mappings and so on...
This would be nice if I for example add a user to a new group where the user gets a new station mapped.

    Tnx

    Re: Domain-logon through VPN-connection

    Hi,

I'm no expert but I have users CISCO clients configured to show at windows logon so the user establishes a VPN connection, then logs on to their machine which then allows scripts / drive mappings and GPOs to run.

To do this open the users VPN client and select:

Options > Windows Logon Properties > Tick 'Enable start before logon'

This will then show a VPN box in the bottom left when the machine gets to the windows logon.

    Hope this helps,
    R
