  • Protected from inheriting permissions from the parent

    I ran a DSACLS command to check the permissions on the Public Folders tree object. The output presented in my dump file is as follows:

    ***********Access list:********************************************* ************
    {This object is protected from inheriting permissions from the parent}
    Effective Permissions on this object are:
    Allow NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM FULL CONTROL

    Permissions inherited to subobjects are:
    Inherited to all subobjects
    Allow NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM FULL CONTROL

    The command completed successfully************************************** *********

    I cannot view the properties of the (Microsoft Exchange) Public Folders object because of this. How can I get rid of the protection. This object needs to be able to inherit permissions from the parent.

    BACK GROUND INFORMATION:
    The ALLOW INHERITANCE PERMISSIONS .... box was uncheck for the Public Folder Store which caused all the headache.
